About

Welcome to the High Flier, also known as the student newspaper of Frederick High School! My name is Chris Pondoc, and I will be a co-editor-in-chief for the High Flier this year. Specifically, I will be overseeing the digital content the newspaper creates. This includes the media that will be posted onto this website as well as any other social media networks our newspaper will be a part of.

My main goal this year is to diversify the types of content we create. As a member of the High Flier team last year, I saw that practically all of the things we posted onto our website were your typical “newspaper” articles. While there is nothing wrong with this, I believe that there are a plethora of other mediums we could utilize in order to share a story or capture the student body’s attention. These mediums include:

  • Photographs
  • Videos
  • Podcasts
  • Abstract Formats

I already know that our group contains individuals who are interested in a variety of things, whether this be politics, sports, finance, or artificial intelligence. Moreover, along with covering the news that surrounds our educational, local, and global communities, I also want to see students write about subjects and create content that shares their personal stories and makes them feel motivated to create.

Again, I hope that everyone will be excited to see our newspaper grow and blossom this school year! We are truly trying to create a more tight-knit community through our content.

Sincerely Yours,

Chris Pondoc
